Move over Bisquick...Mama's got a new biscuit in town!

I found this recipe on allrecipes.com and tweaked it just a bit. They were definitely the most delicious biscuits I’ve had in a loooooooooong time!

Ingredients:
2  all-purpose flour (King Arthur is a MUST)
4 t baking powder
3 t white sugar
½ t salt plus a pinch
½ c butter flavored shortening
1 egg
2/3 c milk

Directions:
In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Cut in  shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Beat egg with milk; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.
Turn onto a well-floured surface; knead 20 times*. Roll to ¾ in thickness; cut with a floured 2 ½ in biscuit cutter (or a cup). Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 450 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Serve warm.
*Do not over knead or add too much extra flour. The dough will be sticky after mixing. Simply turn onto a heavily floured surface and knead just until the dough is no longer sticky, but still a bit lumpy.
